We hosted a talk with the Fashion Business Club yesterday. The FBC is founded by Alison Whelan and Courtney Blackman to involve industry professionals in a process to educate and examine and put together people that otherwise might not meet eachother. It’s an initiative that is sorely lacking in a city where there is plenty of talent but not a great deal of coordination. A charming pair they have managed to attract some industry heavyweights such as Lee Lapthorne and Ashish. We will post pictures in the next few days. The talks last one and a half hours with questions taken across the floor and 35 or so encouraged to participate and inquire.
We are not naturally very sociable but the atmosphere created is comforatble and engaging and we ended up speaking far more than we intended to!

Shows. Exhausting. Nerve racking. Hellish. But the rush….!
After a season off it was fun to get back into the madness that is London Fashion Week. Nails bitten, cigarettes chained (with nico patches still on..) and complimentary Red Bulls sucked down till we were all gurning like Sunday ravers. Fortunately John Walford and Martyn Roberts’ Vauxhall Fashion Scout teams were on hand to inject some competent chill factor while we ran around like headless chickens.
We were showing on the tail of Avsh Alom Gur whose fun goody bags we eyed up with mild envy (plastic watering cans with bicycle bells attached to the handles). Unfortunately Jens’ show in the main tent ran late meaning we lost some press but the house was still packed to the rafters. Molaroid skidded by with copies of his new Magazine ‘War!’ for our goody bags which we were happy to support particularly as the magazine’s themes tied in with our show. We were lucky with the weather as we were doing a champagne reception on the first floor terrace of the venue and a bit’o'booze always helps with audience patience as you try and juggle a slipping schedule.
Then suddenly we were going. The models set a great pace rolling into the clothes and slinging their hips with attitude particularly Alex Crowe and a French girl Ameline who stole the show with their sexy confidence. Then just as suddenly it was over. A two second silence nearly killed us then the whole place erupted into enthusiastic applause. Phew! Despite an appreciative crowd and all of us trying to convince Nana to spend a bit more time on the catwalk she lasted about 2 seconds and then shot off into the wings!
A big thanks to everyone who attended. We’ll get some pics onto the blog in a couple days…
We have confirmed our musos for the Aganovich aftershow shin-shake and lager-louting at Sketch…
Owner of legendary West London record store Peckings and son of the Studio One and Trojan Records pioneer George Price, Chris Price has possibly the greatest record collection in London for the simple fact that he doesnt just own the vinyl he owns the damn songs.
George Price left his sons Chris and Duke the rights to some of the most almighty reggae, rocksteady, dub, roots and ragga tracks ever laid down. So in the Linton Kwesi Johnson spirit of our show he’ll be taking us through some of the tastier corners of his West Indian white label archive.
Also joining us will be the surreal UK hip-hop maverick Infinite Livez. Difficult to describe really…comparisons to MF Doom and Doc Octagon don’t really come close enough, particularly with his track ‘Lactating Man’. Anyway his live act with Japanese DJ Dysu kicks (like a donkey).
Tickets are only available at the catwalk show but if you are unable to attend the show but still feel that you have a god-given right to attend the party, drink all our liquor and steal all the models we pay to stand around us a la Lenny Kravitz then stake your claim at press@aganovich.com.
